Driven by both IoT technology and the dual-carbon strategy, China's smart lighting industry is undergoing a profound transformation from "functional lighting" to "spatial intelligence." In terms of brand development, for example, BenQ Smart Lighting launched its first-generation WiT eye-protection desk lamp in 2015, followed by a variety of scenario-based smart lighting products.
Between 2023 and 2025, significant technological advancements are expected in the industry. In 2023, SimplyLEDs released its next-generation Mesh network control system, Casambi launched a long-range wireless control product, and Tridonic launched its first Matter-compatible lighting control product. By 2025, the Bluetooth Mesh 5.0 protocol will improve device response speed to 0.1 seconds, and the adoption of the Matter 1.4.1 universal protocol will enhance the compatibility of smart lighting products from different brands.
By 2025, the Chinese smart lighting market size has exceeded 42.5 billion yuan, with shipments reaching 33.79 million units. The trend of technological integration is evident, such as dynamic full-spectrum technology with a color rendering index of 98, rhythmic lighting algorithms, and the integration of environmental sensors.
Human-centered lighting has become a technological focus, using adjustable color temperature and brightness systems to simulate natural light to support human circadian rhythms. The industry standard system continues to improve, with the national standard "Minimum Allowable Values of Energy Efficiency and Energy Efficiency Grades for Intelligent Lighting Systems" scheduled to be implemented in 2026.
