Smart lighting is undergoing a transformation from "functional lighting" to "spatial intelligence," acquiring value beyond mere illumination and relating to creating spatial atmosphere and conveying emotions. Human-Centered Lighting (HCL) aims to simulate natural sunlight to support human well-being, influencing mood, productivity, and sleep cycles.
At the smart city level, smart lighting emerges as infrastructure. For example, "smart shared poles" integrate ten functions, including 5G base stations, wireless WiFi transmission, smart lighting, comprehensive monitoring, water mist spraying, video surveillance, information dissemination, call/broadcast, vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication, emergency charging/human-machine interaction, etc. It transmits data by monitoring the surrounding environment to serve pedestrian travel and integrates V2I functionality into light poles along city roads to support autonomous driving.
At the lifestyle level, smart lighting is related to health and emotions. Smart bulbs can convey emotions and create atmospheres, adjusting brightness, color temperature, and color to adapt to different scenarios through dimming and color adjustment. Their light-adjusting function has garnered significant attention.
