High Light Conversion Efficiency
Smart LED bulbs have a higher light conversion efficiency than traditional incandescent bulbs. Most incandescent bulbs emit only 5-20 lumens of luminous flux per watt, while fluorescent tubes emit 40-70 lumens per watt. In contrast, LED bulbs emit 20-100 lumens per watt.

Smart Remote Control
People can remotely control the brightness and color of the bulbs using their mobile phones or computers. They can even be programmed to achieve maximum energy savings, such as automatically turning off the power at specific times of the day. For frequent travelers, turning the bulbs on or off can also deter potential thieves.

Changeable Light Color
Smart LED bulbs can easily change the color temperature of the emitted light, producing a bright yet soft glow. The color of the light can also be arbitrarily changed by combining LED bulbs of different colors and adjusting their relative brightness.

An Australian inventor has developed an LED bulb that can be controlled by a smartphone to switch on and off and change colors. This bulb is easy to install and has a lifespan of up to 25 years.

This smart light bulb, called LIFX, connects to a smartphone app, allowing users to customize the bulb's color tone, preset the time to turn it on upon waking, and control it with a traditional switch.

LIFX consumes the same amount of power as a 60-watt incandescent bulb or a 50-watt halogen bulb. Installation is the same as a regular bulb-simply screw it on.

LIFX was recently released and is priced at $99 each, or $380 for a box of four.
